News from our Cattery

I am delighted to say, the two boys at the Palo Alto Shelter were adopted on Saturday. Thank you to whoever adopted these wonderful guys, and please keep me informed as to their progress. I'm here to answer any questions you may have.
Boy, I was feeling and sounding pestimistic yesterday about Sailor. He is doing much better, but he still can't be in the same room with the other cats. I took him outside yesterday morning and again this morning and he is starting to relax some. He wants to come in the house and sits at the garage door when I open it, and he looks inside. But he has to walk past the litter boxes to come inside, and that means he has to accept the other cats in order to do this. I have been bringing him inside while the other cats are sleeping and I put them in rooms and close the doors so he can roam around. I also brought him in my office a couple of times and closed the door while I was in here. But he could hear the cats moving around in the house, and crying for me to open the door, and it made Sailor unconfortable. But I will keep at it. He use to be very friendly to all animals. My goodwill embassador. So, hopefully, I can get him back to that point. He has just been very unhappy for months, and left alone too much, and didn't have me to keep him in line. Here are some current photos of Sailor.

I went to Santa Clara yesterday for a dentist appointment. I brought Sailor back with me to Merced to see if I can try and get him to accept the kittens. He isn't doing well at all, and is pretty much resigned to the garage still. He has a huge hairball and is upset and keeps choking when he sees the kittens or Cleo. He doesn't recognize Cleo and is acting hostile towards her. This is very sad.
Rich and I have discussed it and we would like to rehome Sailor. He needs a home where he can be an indoor/outdoor cat. We spoiled him as a kitten and have allowed him to go out occasionally to eat grass, as he gets big hairballs if he doesn't and it is sad to see him choke.
But I don't want a house full of indoor/outdoor Ragdolls, and it is too difficult to have one cat who is treated differently from the others. The others resent it and resent us. And I am not going to do this again.
If anyone reading the blog, would like to offer Sailor a home, I can promise you he is a spectacular cat. The only criteria is no other animals in the household. He just can't handle it. It's because he has been alone for the last 7 months, and he is now anti-social to other cats. He still loves Princess, but now that he is separated from her I bet if put back with her, he will act aggressive with her, too. He is very playful even though he is almost 7 years old. Very healthy, as well. He is probably more of a man's cat than a woman's cat. He is very strong, and is probably too much for a woman to handle.
I still have Raisin and Red Bull for adoption. I will consider selling either as a breeder, to an established cattery. I have registered both of them as breeders already. If I can find a home for Sailor and possibly Princess, too, then I will keep one of the kittens for breeding. Otherwise, I think we will be closing down the cattery for good.

Me and the boys have been having a wonderful week.
Did you see what someone did to my website on Friday? They hacked into the website and put terrorist palestinian crap all over the website, overwriting all my pages. It took me a whole hour to recover. Stupid warmonging, idiots.
Anyway, kittens are doing great. Raisin is really growing. Redbull just seems to get more fluffy, while Raisin's legs are finally catching up to the rest of his body. lol
I noticed that Raisin has Cleo's facial markings exactly, except he doesn't have the red cheek as she does. You can see the similarity in the photos below.

I just got an email from the Palo Alto Police Dept and two of my previous kittens have been surrendered to the shelter there. They are two half brothers, 2.5 years old. I can't do anything as I am not in the bay area yet. I am very upset over this.
It sounds like the Animal Services will surrender them to me, as they mentioned having them couriered down to Modesto for me to retrieve them.
I am not able to bring them here while I have Cleo and her two kittens here.
If there is anyone reading the blog who can take in these two cats please drop me an email. Here are some photos of them.

Sorry I haven't been keeping the blog up to date this last week. I have been packing and such. I took Red Bull for a trip with me to the Bay Area to see how his social skills are developing. He did so well, I was so proud of him, but I was equally as disappointed with Princess and Sailor. They have spent too much time alone and are not doing well without me.
Now you can see my dilema with the kittens. I kept these two kittens back as either would be a great stud. But I think we have our hands full of trying to integrate our cats back together, without adding a new stud into the mix. Sailor was absolutely terrified of Red Bull. He and Princess would not accept him. Red Bull had the greatest day of his life, and was unaffected by two hissing, terrified cats who were warning him. He was running and playing with the toys and the different cat trees, and when it came time to go, he was happy to go as well.
He came home and I swear it is like I brought Jumper home instead. This can't be Red Bull. He doesn't act like Red Bull anymore. He is one very happy kitty. He loved going for a ride.
Before Ginger left, the kittens found my heated pad I rest my feet on under my desk. I had to share the photo.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
I am now down to just two kittens and life is more manageable. lol. Raisin and Red Bull were needing some one on one time with me so I held them back. (Actually I just wanted them all to myself for awhile.)
I will be moving back to Santa Clara by the end of January, so if I still have the boys then I will accept visits there.
